Are you testing the fuel pump pressure or the fuel RAIL pressure?

Pump pressure is the absolute pressure put out by your fuel pump...Meaning the pressure regulator is removed from the equation. Most N/As run 50-80 PSI. TIIs are a different story. Rail pressure is the PSI after the pressure regulator. BIG difference..

Fuel injection pressure kits at PEPBOYS. You may have to fabricate a fitting to fit your cars fuel hose. Plumb right into the outlet of the filter. You should have 64-85.3 psi. Then tee the gauge b/t the outlet of the filter to the fuel rail. Start the engine and then take off the vac line on the pressure regulator. The gauge should read 35.6-37 psi. While idling put the vac hose back on the fuel pressure regulator. Gauge should read approx 28.4. Your probably going to have to cut the gauge bought at the store so you can insert a tee or straight barbed union in order to connect to your cars fuel lines.
