ok i NEED to kno this ASAP

well the other day my flywheel bolt came loose and the flywheel came off place so it wasnt spinning w/ the engine. I just heard that with that happening i may have messed up my rear engine bearing. is this true and if so will i have to pull and rebuild the engine to fix it?

do you mean the STOCK flywheel, and the SUPERNUT came off?
or do you haev an aftermarket flywheel with the 6 bolts?

buy the flywheel wrench from mazdatrix, and tighten it.... its really easy and tightens it pretyt good, since its 2 foot logn

unless you have impact gun or those beautiful sweet tools... then just buy a 2 1/8 socket

Wow, the stock flywheel nut is supposed to be torqued to something like 300ft/lbs. Its also supposed to have thread locker on the nut, (52mm or 2 1/8th").

I cant really see how the key could have came out, since I would assume (there goes that word again) that the clutch, clutch disk, throw out bearing, and clutch release fork MIGHT keep the flywheel "on" the e-shaft. The key could have very well broken.

An inspection is neccesary.

strip marks meaning, if he used pliers, he slipped and scratched the bolt like if he was using vice grips. the flywheel didnt come off completly but it was just spnning freely. like if u got onder the car and spun it, it would spin like a wheel. and im really not trying to buy one from mazda trix bcuz its a tool i only plan on using once. i was also told i need a woodruff key. where can i get one of those?
