first pic is of how I removed the charcoal canister. Second pic is a hose going from the ic to the the uim. Thanks.

I head through searching that it is ok to cap both places because there is a 3rd valve at the tank that will vent if the charcoal canister is clogged.

Get a catch can and connect it to those hard lines and or just leave the caps off. Do not cap them. Do you have a front mount IC? If so I'm positive you have to cap the other one. Your car might smoke a bit with those hard lines caped.

Why don't you just leave the dang thing on there so my kids don't have to smell your fuel vapors?

Quit pulling stuff off the car, and worry about getting it to run right, lol...

my car already smells like gas, lol! I always joke to my fiance and say "just think when I get this thing running we can go out in this car and show up to the bar smelling like gas"! I don't have any cats so the smell of gas has always been there I don't think it is possible to smell more like gas. ALso if anyone knows what that line goes to and if I can cap it please let me know! with the charcoal canister if it does make more of a gas smell (if thats possible with my car) then I will put it back on however if there is no illefect I'll keep it out.

you should take the rest of the metal pipe for the charcoal canister off to save some weight

A catchcan isn't for the fuel vapors, its for when you remove the purge valve or whatever it is on our cars. If you decide to cap the lines off, just get a vented gas cap.
