Used SS lines should be avoided if they are more than a year old and do not have some sort of covering over the braid (such as a conformal coating, or heat shrink, etc).

Uncovered/unsealed lines, tend to get grit and dirt between the braid and will wear out the lines between the braid and the inner tubing.

Remember SS lines were orginally made for racers and track use, where they only saw 100 hours of use a year.

^used or not...if they don't come covered and sealed, don't get them. If you buy brand new ones and they come uncovered, go buy some neoprene fuel line that they'll fit in and hose clamps to seal them off...unless you want to replace them once a year.

only if they are uncovered. Most of the better SS lines have a conformal plastic coating on them.

Do what I said and you'll be fine. Just make sure they're real clean before you put them in the neoprene or rubber tubing. Then they'll probably last longer than your car.

SS lines will always be better than normal lines...even if they're not protectively covered. Even if I had to change mine every year, it'd be an expense I'd be willing to handle.

i would get ss lines because they are a improvement in braking theres the ones that have the clear coating on them so they dont start wearing from water dust ect then theres the ones that dont come coated and those dont last long depending on everyday drivers just save your money and get new ones with the clear coating on them its worth it in the long run
