Ok, 5th and 6th port question.

Ok here is my situation.

Recently got an exhaust installed on my 90 s5 n/a.

I have only the precat, and the main one is no longer there.

The hardline is under the car.

What do i need to do to get my 5th and 6th ports working properly?

Is there two separate lines or something?

I know i didn't personally unnattach it from the acv.

So can it blow air to no where under the car, and still work my ports properly?

S5s use air pump to activate the 5th and 6th ports, not exhaust backpressure.

The split air pipe that *would* goto the cat can be capped off (dificult b/c of the flow) or just cut//unattatched.

however the 5th and 6th port air feeds do need to be hooked up respectively.

He is saying that your car, an s5, won't have to worry about the 5/6 ports not opening. If I remember correctly the ports are opened by the airpump, not exhaust backpressure. So as long as you still have your airpump everything should work fine.

If you wanna know for sure get your car warmed up and have a buddy slowly rev it and just watch the actuators. If you can't do that just put some grease on the actuators and rev it. If the grease has moved then the actuator moved, meaning the ports opened.

For those with series 5 N/A's, the port actuators push to open, and only under high load.
To test them, T in a pressure gage and blow into the tube to check at what pressure they open.
Then route the tube inside with the gage on the end, and do a test drive to see when they open.
This also works for the VDI.

Negative on that, will only actuate under load. Though my rework has caught the Aux port solenoid activating at anytime above 4k rpm, even in nuetral. So I'm not sure what the stock req's are on it.

EDIT: and VDI solenoid opens somewhere around 5800rpm
