i just started working on rx7's this year, i have an 86 rx7 n/a, i was wondering if anyone knew about the oil thermo unit that goes to the oil pan? mine broke off at the wire, so i was wondering if the car will still run ok without it?

 

It was meant for the Sub Zero Start system, a system that Mazda recommends be removed. It'll run most all day without it. Most.

 

could i buy an aftermarket oil temp gauge and just put it in its place?
