are oil seals and apex seals the same thing

No, they are not the same thing.
Think of it this way:
Apex seals = top piston ring
Oil o-rings = bottom piston ring
Your apex seals (and side seals as well as corner seals) are responsible for making compression.
The oil seals are there to seal the bearing area to prevent oil from entering the combustion chambers.
Bad oil o-rings will cause oil smoke out the exhaust. Blown apex seals result in lack of compression.

there are bascially 3 seals for compression, and 1 set of seals for oil
apex, side and corner seals, seal compression, you can tell if they are good with a compression test.
the oil seals seal oil, basically if the engine smokes too much these are bad
you'll tell if you have a bad oil ring smokes like a chimney.. i got a bad oil ring stilll has all power but go through oil like i go through gas. ( i dont have OMP so i shouldnt )..
ok i think i have a bad oil seal then but my engine doesn't smoke it only comes out the exaust but the only time the exaust does smoke like a chimney is when the engine is very very cold like in the morning
