Oil presure gauge/sensor not reading at all

Hey guys I test drove my new (To me) 87 Turbo II, last week & noticed that it showed no oil oressure reading at all...
Someone on the board mentioned, that using sealant tape can cause it not to ground, causing this no reading...
The question is....Will it after removal?
My car runs fine, and the engine dosn't get hot, but I want to know what my oil pressure is at all times...Any advice is great! Thanks much!

the connector is probably off the sender. it is on the drivers side towards the back of the engine.

That's true, since the sensor is grounded through the engine, but it's more likely the wire's fallen off the sender.

NZ- how come the temp gauge sender is there but the 2nd gen dont even come with a temp gauge. Can i use that for aftermarket oil temp gauge? i dont want to spend money on that RB or fc3s.org adapter.

Thanks much guys, I think all the connections are there? and Thanks big time Jason for the diagram...
How do you like your Turbo Vert? I owned 2 RX-7 verts in the past but found them lacking power being heavy and NA...A Turbo Vert would be way cool!
Have a great weekend guys!

Might be a problem with the gauge itself. Dirty contacts are not uncommon and will cause bad readings (or none).

Turbo 'verts are very cool in the summer. At the moment though it's just a heavy, leaky coupe! I still love it though.

Well, This morning I see see the contact was off of the sensor itself, not sure if it was knocked off during my tuneup, but after putting it back on, it didn't change my "No reading"...
Hey Jason, Leaky as in your getting alot of rain like we are here in Indy too?
I am sure some sun is heading your way right now!
Take care!
