Angry Oil pressure on start up and drive

I have a quick question. When I start up my car, the oil pressure rises with the revs when the car warms up but then it will slowly drop to 0. This happens when I am driving also, the oil pressure will rise to 60+ and then when I am at a steady speed it will slowly drop to 0. I searched this and all I could find were posts for broken gauges or ones that will rise past 110 on the gauge. If I missed a post for this, please include the link to it.
Thanks

get a mechanical gauge and verify if you have an oil pressure problem or not.

dude, I asked the same thing and everyone said it was normal due to it being oil injected.

Dude, the stock oil pressure gauge, while better than some cars from that era (think fox body mustang which doesn't even have numbers and never moves from the "normal" area), still pretty much sucks. I have both my stock and aftermarket oil pressure gauges in right in my 88 nonturbo. At idle when fully warmed up the stock gauge reads like 40ish and the autometer reads like 24. Aftermarket gauges are also a lot more responsive, while the stock gauge tends to lag behind changes in rpm, throttle, etc.

There's probably a resistance spec for the stock oil pressure sending unit. See if it's still good or not.

It's normal for it to rise when the load on the engine is increased and fall when the load on the engine decreases. It's not normal for it to just drop to 0 while driving at a constant speed.

your gauge is just being stupid dumb and hyphy
if you really have 0 psi... really, you will know - and you will know fast.
dont worry about it, or put a new gauge on, mechanical or electrical doesnt matter.
just one that works.

if you replaced the stock gauge with another stock gauge and it reads the same it could be the sensor....i mean, yeah. change the oil press. sensor with one form the junk yrad or get a new one. if no change then get a new aftermarket gauge, which i find too cumbersom to hook up, but i trust aftermarket after the car is 20 years old. then if still are having issues take it to a shop, and get them to check it out, cause 0 psi means you aint moving buddy. check yours sensors, gauges go out, but so do sensors, remember that.

Thanks for the replys. Also, it was working last month but then I removed my a/c and the piping so and changed the oil so I figured I must of messed up the sensor near the oil filter. Ill play with it later and see if it changes. If not I will have to swap it out. Thanks again.

I just bought a 3rd gen. It does the same thing. When the oil is hot it tends to show 0-10 psi at idle and low load. I hooked up an aftermarket guage to verify that i wasn't about burn the motor. The factory guage seems to read 20 psi low with warm oil.
