Oil pressure sensor being weird

Ever since i put everything back together my oil pressure gauge is acting funny. Before start up it sits below 0 and once started it goes to 0 and then after warm up it goes back to the negative position.

I also found a free wire that is red and yellow (i think) from the harness and it's near the sensor

Any ideas?

I'll get photos as soon as i can

there are 2 sensors in that area, one is for coolant and the other for Oil pressure.
check both to see they have the right wire going to each one.

Sometimes my gauge will just randomly drop down to 0 and i think its bad wiring. Where is the oil pressure sensor located exactly?

Oil pressure sensor is located below the oil filter pedestal about 6 inches. It's right near a coolant line that goes to the firewall. Check the connection, mine was pretty gummed up and a little cleaning helped.

the clip to the oil pressure sensor does not look like a normal connector at all. Its a plastic housing thats rectangular its about a quarter of an inch by an inch long, and it slides onto the most extruding part of the sensor. you should see something like a T poking out of the sensor. this clip can easily be knocked off or dirtied over the years

I wonder if its the sensor or gauge that sucks on the FC, but I am inclined to believe that its the sensor that sucks, since all other gauges in the console are reliable.

Not sure if all FC's have the same wiring color for the oil pressure sensor, but on my FC, its a yellow with red stripe wire. IF you are seing movement on the oil pressure gauge, I asume that pressure sensor wire is attached to the sensor, and its the sensor that went bad.
