Unhappy Oil Pressure Reading Low?

I don't have the exact figure in front of me, but it looks like I have a very low reading on my oil pressure gauge. I believe it is below 60/psi or close to it at idle and only goes up to about 75psi with throttle. This is in my 1988 RX-7 TII. On my last 1987 RX NA, it would alway read REAL high, above 85! I have read somewhere that this reading CAN be misleading, something to do with the oil sender or something? I am running 20W/50, does that make a big difference? Thank you for any help you can give me!

Thanks Gab88na! Whats up? Yours was the only reply I received, so either no one else has an answer OR it is to hard a question! I am going to check on that sending unit and see if it is the problem. Would hate to think my pressure is REALLY that low!!!

60psi at idle is just fine, IMHO

Factory manual specifies 64-75psi at 3K RPM

however, I do agree that the sending unit sucks donkey turds.. Mine reads 20psi at idle, but the autometer guage reads 65. Of course, I busted the ground for the guage and never replaced it, so what do I know
