Question Oil pressure question

I have a 1986 13B with 137,000 miles. When driving the oil pressure reads 55--60. At idle the pressure reads 12-15. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Mine reads about 20 at idle and about 60-the top of the guage when I am at highway speeds(65-140) I guess it is normal.

That's close to normal. Sounds slightly low at idle, but when you take into consideration the accuracy of the gauge/sender, I'd take no action to fix anything. I'd bet money if one took a mechanical gauge, say a Sunpro and installed it temp, both figures would show to be higher. Idle and cruise.

Go worry about something else. Your cars ok.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the feedback. Just got it started after two weeks of being flooded. My first time at doing this. It's my normal daily driver and use my NSX for the weekend. It was a hoot to get back into the RX-7 after a few weeks in the NSX.

Well that sounds alot better than mine mine has a pressure of about 1-2 psi and yes I typed that right I hope it is just the gauge but I think for the most part it is the engine that needs seriously rebuilt and also it has about 20 psi on the gauge at 2500-3000 rpm

sounds like you may have lost both the front cover O ring and the Eshaft thermo valve.

Either that or your sender is seriously mucked up
