oil pressure gauge maxed out??? Temp moves like a rpm gauge??
I just bought a 90 GTU that sat for about 2-3 years. Finally got it up and running and i am having some issues with the gauges. The oil pressure gauge instantly maxes out when the car is started and the temp gauge seems to go higher the instant you rev the car (like a rpm gauge) I seached a little and this seems to be the symtom of a disconnected or grounded condensor?? But i was unsure of what exactly to do. Anyone ever have this problem and how exactly did you fix it?? Thanks!
Both the water temp and the oil pressure sending units are located on the driver's side of the engine, right below the oil filter pedestal but it seems more likely to me that you have a problem with the gauge wiring- specifically improper grounding.
I'd pull the cluster and inspect the connections and the wire bundle.
Actually, no, it isn't.

The oil pressure sending unit has a slip on prong not a clip. The unit itself is about 1-2 inches wide and is circular. And it is below the oil filter. Definatly check your gauge cluster. Post a pic of it if your not sure what to look for.
awesome i know exactly where its at, im gona check it out later today, So the temp sensor is on the side of the engine too? What is that green sensor behind the water pump? thanks for all the help!
