Oil pedestal installation
I know it's probably a repost, but I can't find a straight answer on the forum. I contacted speedmachine and never got an answer.
I bought oil temp and pressure gauges, and the easiest way to install them would be an oil pedestal in my opinion. But some FD guys talked about removing the engine to install an oil pedestal...
What is involved in the process of installing an oil pedestal on an 1986 FC?
Oh, and did any of you ever have issues with speedmachineperformance? Because the fact that I didn't get any answer worry me a bit.
Thanks guys.

I have yet to do this but will be soon...
From my knowledge you remove your oil filter and the pedatal either screws right on or there is a small piece that unscrews and you replace it with the new part. Not sure if its best/easier to screw in the gauge probes before or after install.

All you have to do is drain your oil, take off your filter, unbolt 2 8/10mm bolts from underneath the stock pedestal. Then take it off, put your new one under it and bolt it back on with the new longer bolts. Just make sure you only use 1 o ring/gasket, either the new ones or the stock ones cause it's going to leak if you use 2. And for the bolts use an open end and it might be tricky to reach cause you can't see it, it's underneath. Hope that helps.
