Oil pan bolt tightening order
stripping the aluminum is a problem, and i think studs are a good idea but also a pain in the *** for the reason j9fd3s mentioned.
i used to use gaskets, then i just stopped using them one day and never used them since.

Toyota FIPG is my silicone of choice. It sticks like crazy and will even hold the pan to the engine without bolts installed while you fish around a parts tray for them. I used to use Permatex Ultra Black, Ultra Grey, and The Right Stuff. I have never looked back since I started using the Toyota stuff.
