stripping the aluminum is a problem, and i think studs are a good idea but also a pain in the *** for the reason j9fd3s mentioned.

i used to use gaskets, then i just stopped using them one day and never used them since.

 

Toyota FIPG is my silicone of choice. It sticks like crazy and will even hold the pan to the engine without bolts installed while you fish around a parts tray for them. I used to use Permatex Ultra Black, Ultra Grey, and The Right Stuff. I have never looked back since I started using the Toyota stuff.

 

I'll have to try it. My goto is Hondabond.

 

I like Hondabond, but I do not like the cure time and the prep. Hondabond is great for case halves, though.

 

i keep the toyota stuff as well, the kinda i have , has no name, just a part number, and toyota on it.

 

the factory stuff works better if you aren't very clean, the others mentioned work just fine if you are.
