generally it is the 2 o-rings, could be a filter base gasket issue or leaky oil pressure sender as well. clean it off and find the highest point where the leak starts from.

If it is the 2 O rings, then get a 10mm wrench(short style) and take the pedestal off..and take those O rings to Napa and get 2 good ones.

Does the oil need to be drained to replace these o-rings? I think my car has the same problem.

Oil drain from the filter will be minimal and can be wiped with a rag.

It doesn't leak much oil as the filter empties itself after a short time with the engine off.
I bought some viton o-rings when I replaced mine, however due to having a $25 minimum order at the o-ring shop I have some extras. Since you're in Canada if you want a pair just let me know via PM where to send them to and I'll put a pair in an envelope and send them off to you, they might as well get some use

The ones I got are just a tiny bit bigger than the stock ones so they stick in the recess when you flip the pedestal over for easy re-installation. The biggest thing is just to clean the area well, then clean the fittings again to make sure the new o-rings don't leak.
