oil leak, dont know where it cames fro

hi, i have an oil leak on my car and i really don't know where it cames from, when i drive the car normally it leaks a little but when i drive it hard it leaks a lot, i don't know where it cames from, i only know that i put the car on jacks and check underneath and there was oil around the oil pan and also if you look like behind the radiator when your underneath there is a metal or something don't really know how its called its also covered in oil, i need to fix this cause my other car is getting the transmission fix and this will be my dd until the tranny is fixed.

thanks for any help

Near the radiator and the oil pan? Maybe check your oil cooler lines...?

sounds like the oil cooler lines and the oil pan gasket.

thanks, i sure wish that it isn't the oil pan gasket, it seems to be a lot of work for only changing that gasket.

that "tube" should be your steering rack, right above it on the driver side is the oil cooler line connection, check that.

oil pan gasket is all that tough, just hope that it isn't yer front cover.

thats it, that's what i think the tube is, '' the steering rack", well if the oil cooler connection is right above the steering rack then i do think that the oil cooler line has to be the problem but if it is the front cover im pretty much screwed. ill check all this tomorrow.

thanks

checked the car today, the oil cooler lines are just fine. the problem is coming from the oil metering pump, all that area is covered in oil and i think that that's what's getting my steering rack all covered in oil since the oil metering pump is above the right side of the steering rack. should i check the oil lines from the metering pump or is the metering pump bad and have to replace it????? what should i check first on this case
