oil cooler hoses

I got a few questions.
I have rx7 88 N/A
Is it hard to replace oil cooler hoses by myself?
If somebody here did it, I am thinking of replacing it myself and I need some advise.

Thanks,

Also, what`s good manual book for this car?

if you're talking about the oil cooler line that come from the oil cooler, they are a pain in the *** to get out. One reason is that the hose is connected to the oil cooler with two very large and obstinate bolts that are anything but easy to get to with a wrench. And the hose that is connected to the front cover also can be difficult to get out.

If you're talking about the cooler lines that come from the omp. Those are usually very brittle and they break very easily.

Yes you can do this by yourself. Also make sure to keep track of the cooper washers that seal the hoses to the oil cooler and the block. Sometimes they like to stick onto the bolt and you'll walk around your garage about eighty times before you find em stuck to the bolt and oil cooler.

It's a pain in the ***, but it isn't that bad. Undo the lines at the engine first, then pull the oil cooler out with the lines attached. Gently put the cooler in a vise to undo the banjo bolts on the cooler. The line at the front cover can be undone with two wrenches, 21 and 27mm I think. The banjo bolts are 23mm.

And use all new washers, I wouldn't trust used ones.

I find the banjo bolts quite easy to remove. 23MM. Use a breaker bar and support the cooler with your knee while you remove. The bolt at the front of the engine is my nemesis. Normally, remove the fan and shroud, then use a board to support a wrench on the engine side against the ground. Then put on a set of vice grips (I know...shut up ) on the line side and tap those with a hammer. That normally breaks it loose.

So there is a 23mm socket! WoW i went to sears today and i can't find the 23mm in the socket kit. Weird ehh. Chaning the oil line is not too hard but breaking the bolt loose is probly the hardest thing to do. But after that is pretty much stright forward. But i also have problem reinstaling the bolt in front on the block also. So yeah... Oh also maybe you should replace your oil cooler mount since they are mess up most of the time.
