oil cooler fan

Anyone ever have this go out on a TurboII. I recenlty finished the installation of a Haltech E6K. With the ignition on this fan is making a very loud buzzing noise and does not stop buzzing. Is it on a relay or temperature switch that turns it on? Trying to figure out why it buzzes constantly and never shuts off? Note that the fan does not sping or move when the ignition is on. The blades spin freely when moved by hand, but it also seems to be very wobbly as if the blade has come off the motor.

What oil cooler fan do you speak of? I know of the AC fan but most people chuck that because with a proberly designed cooling system one fan will work fine.

It is a puller fan mounted in front of the oil cooler under neath the coolant over flow bottle. Its a very small black fan, I'd say 6-10 inches big and is definatly a stock part. Its mounted on the passenger side of the car.

It's the A/C fan (for car's with AC equiped) There's a connector on the filler neck that controls it (thermo switch?) When it hits a certain temp, it grounds and spins up the fan.

Thanks. I heard from someone else it was for the AC but you telling me how it is controlled is a big help. I removed that connection when I took the wiring harness out and installed the haltech. That probably explains why it was running...no connection to the sensor.

I'll just leave it unpluged for now.

Thanks again.

That fan doesn't blow anywhere near the oil cooler. It runs anytime the A/C is switched on OR if coolant temp reaches 205degF.
