Oil control rings (oil control seal)???, still rebuilding My TII engine

Last night I was in the cleaning process of the internal engine parts and one of the rotor's oil control ring was cracked and eventually broke, I was searching for prices and options but they come in pairs so my questions is: Do I need to replace the oil ring seals in all the rotors or can I just repalce the one is broken,
Thanks in advance
Carl

You are supposed to replace them all during a rebuild.

Since they are so cheap, and since at least one of your old ones was so old it broke you should replace all of them.

Even for the top of the line Viton oil seals are only like $40 for the whole set that does the whole motor.

You leave me wondering if you mean the *rubber* O'ring or the metal oil seal. Replace ALL the *O rings and reuse the metal seal if it's in spec.

I'm talking about the metal ones, there are two metal rings per rotor, these are the ones, acutally I'm sorry I should reffer to them as oil seals, can I replace just the broke or all of them?
Thanks in advance

[Atkins is shipping me one as I type. I had one that was broken too.]

Did you buy the complete set or just one oil seal.
Thanks

I bought the complete set, but one of them was broken, they are replacing it. I know it costs a bit more, but replacing the rings and seals will keep the engine from blowing by oil for many miles. I tore 3 engines down and couldn't find 1 oil seal in spec. Gave up and ordered new. It will be worth it in the long run.

Call them up. I found them to be very nice people to work with.

I think you are 100% right,
The problem I'm kind of a budget but like you said in a log run will be worth it
