smoke can be from coolant as well, oil has a light blue tint, coolant/water will be puffy and white like a cloud in the sky.

did you use some generic kit you found like those ******** selling red silicone oil seals? because those are NOT the right seals.

viton and HNBR do not come in red, HNBR is green and chemical resistant viton is a matte black. glossy black seals could be nitrile or buna which are also the incorrect material that some of these asshats are passing off on people.

extremely worn irons will also allow oil to leak down when the engine is off, which is probably what you're getting, in which case just run it til it craps itself.

then how bout this, it's a rotary engine, a little puff of smoke for 10 seconds once a day should be the least of your worries.

Usually Bad oil control rings seals will cause terrible smoking at high rpms under all conditions, warm or cold. The symptoms you described sounds like oil leak down and could be from worn side housings.

the viton seals have a tight fit to the rotors and do not spring out as well as they should, sometimes the rotors are in such a position that a little leak down is normal. it's a compromise versus using the craptastic OEM seals that do not seem to last as long as they should.

besides, a little extra oil for the apex seals during crank has never been a bad thing.

Wasn't trying to come off rude, just joking around

In all honesty, save yourself the hassle and $ and drive it until it needs rebuilding again
