oil catch can idea

well after a new water pump, a new radiator and hoses, i might aswell replace the coolant resivour. SO i was wondering if any of you swaped out yours and used an oil catch can or something like it, the plastic one looks pretty bad.

Unless you made up your own catch can they tend to be $80+ .

Prob be cheaper to find a used tank in a salvage yard.
