during hard conering. Then again if you're cleaning out your oil pan and throwing on a new gasket, its not xactly dificult to sandwich in the baffle

Well its not difficult, but you can strip the housngs when re-installing, which is why I want to change them to studs.

Moroso makes an oil pan stud kit that's VERY nice. It's like $20 and comes with all the studs and nuts you need. The studs even have Allen head ends on them so you can torque them into place. I used those when I built up my FC and was VERY pleased with the result.

I am not running studs, but I am running the baffle plate. I just bought enough M6 bolts about an inch long, and trimmed them when needed. Stainless, naturally. A washer on each bolt also helps spread the load a little to combat leaks.

Thanks Dale, and Aaron!

I guess I wil have to see where I can pick the stud kit up at. Did you torque the nuts down more than if using the bolts?

You have to be very careful with torque. Follow the factory specs exactly. The bolt holes have a tendency to strip, and you over torque, they can break (has happened many times to me, which is one reason I went to stainless).

What I ment about the torque is for the studs, torque the studs properly, then torque the nuts say 2-3lbs more.
