Oh great! S5 no workie.

So i installed my ecu and omp and took her out. white smoke galore. car sat for 3 days. about a block away the temp gauge hits the 3/4 mark and i shut her down. i pop the hood and notice a super fine stream of coolant coming out the middle of the semi new radiator. i appears when i was removing the air pump it fell into the radiator and cause a dink that is now leaking a fine mist. Great!Pured anti freeze and some stop leak in the radiator , now the car wont start. i pulled the leading plugs and pulled the EGI. had my friend crank the car adn watched the fuel and such spit out. Then i put some oil in the trailing holes to build compression.Thinking this would fix the flood i tried in vain to start her up but she just spins and this whispy white smoke drifts out the pipes. so with the help of my friend we towed her home. Now what should i do? Im soooo tired of this project guys. i love my car but i think im ready to move on. i think i may have to sell her so you may see the post soon. Its a 91 vert by the way..

thanks for you help Bro's!

hmm, all it takes is one good overheat to mess up those coolant seals, how many miles on the motor? Fill up the coolant, leave the cap off, and have a friend hold the pedal to the floor and crank... If you find bubbles in your coolant and it kinda spews out from the filler neck, it is safe to say you fried a seal, if not, keep trying... Dont give up on her, you know if you give up youll miss her.. I tryed to give mine up, 5 rx7s l;ater I still have one. Its an addiction.

Well, on a S5, if the gauge ever gets past halfway, the motor is trashed in most cases.

okay after charging the battery i tried to start her up today. no go. it turns but nothing lights up. im going ot pull the pugs and have a friend turn her over to eject all the oil and junk i put in there to make compression. i used motor oil instead of atf because thats all i had at the time. She wants to start but its not firing so what would be the next thing to look into?

push/pull start. s5 temp gauge sucks. normally once it starts moving it's already way too hot.

if you have whispy white smoke coming out of your tail pipe theres like a very high chance you bllew a coolent seal, and the motor is toast now.....

yeah i did have that smoke come out. isnt there a way to over come it by doing the ATF trick. even if only for a little while. I heard it was possible that one of the seals got stuck and thats why i have little compression. im trying anything before i accept the truth......

okay so now i pulled the plugs EGI and had a friend crank it over. The crapmthat came out was impressive. so i think im going to leave the plugs out overnight so it will dry the inside. do our motors even work like that or am i just wasting time letting it sit?
