Question OEM Antenna power plug

The orginal antenna on my 86 NA did not come with the car. I'm going to install a new after market antenna but I can't find the power wire that makes the antenna go up/down. I found a plug that has about 3 or 4 poles. Is that the correct wire or is going to be just a single wire/plug?

thanks......... ash

The original plug is a 4 wire unit, IGNITION ON, ACC ON, RADIO TRIGGER, and GROUND. If you have the original radio, the RADIO TRIGGER will show 0V ground signal. Most aftermarket antennas use a 12v reference to trigger the up and down motion so you will need to wire in a relay like in the FAQs thread to trigger it. If you have an aftermarket radio and you wired the radio's trigger correctly you wont need the relay.
