The engine sounds like its missing but idont know. Its a very slight pop every now and then. Anyone know what it could be?

 

check for exhaust leaks, vacuum leaks, sparkplugs, adjust the tps, minor stuff like that shuold fix it, my car has the "popping" idle sometimes. Seems also to be dependant on the electrical load on the car aswell.

When does it happen? If its when you're deccelerating then its prob just backfiring, which is pretty normal for rotaries, especially ones with removed emissions.

mine makes a "put put" sort of noise during warmup...i have an exhaust leak by my cat and im running a bit rich, so taht might be the cause of yours.
like sideways7 says, backfireing is normal...mine backfires like a mother...
