occasional erratic idle right after starting it up--Why?

After driving hard, or maybe a long trip, if i start it up again, once in a while it will idle for alittle bit like i have a blown seal or something, but then eventually levels out.
it even kinda sounds like its misfiring too, but if i give it gas to about 1.5k or so, after about 15-30 seconds, its alright.

whats this about??

ps, i took someone for a ride today, and i was driving hard, brought it up to about 7 or so...which i seldom do, after that, without even turning the car off, at a light it was going up and down between about 800k and about 1800k or so. then stopped once i got moving..

weird! everything working fine though. experts?

hmmm, I have somthing like this but it is a little different. Mine idles high and kinda erratic right after I start it up the first time, sometimes if I dont give it gas it will just quit on me. This only happens in the morning or after I havent driven it for a few hours. If I give her a little gas she is fine and runs great. Like I said this is only right after she has not been driven for a while. I think my problem might be comming from my cat, whitch is badly clogged and falling apart. I am open to any ideas of what this might be.
