ocassional pedal lag...
its not all the time, but every now and then when I floor it in my s5, it temporarily jsut dies, no power or combustion at all, then it kicks back in suddenly. its annoying, bc it only happens when I NEED to go quickly, to avoid an obstacle or something. what could it be? fuel filter has been replaced already. is it the fuel pump? could it be bad plugs? any answers would be appreciated!

As a general rule in the world of proffesional racing, you don't slam the pedal to the metal.
A slow controlled acceleration is much smoother, and race engines don't have the same mechanisms that street cars do to compensate for the sudden rush of air.
It's simply a second set of butterfly flaps inside the throttle body that open slowly when you floor it, which prevent it from doing what happens to you.
Check the throttle body to see if maybe they are stuck open, or someone wired them open or removed them.
There is a walkthrough in the 2nd gen archive on removing the secondary flaps, it tells you the same thing.
