Cool O2 sensor wire which GY? 89' S5 N/A

Ok, been doing my research and found that the wire is GY (Gray) and that it is shielded, I go and open the passenger side harness bundle and there are 3 gray wires, 2 small, 1 large, large one is the CAS wires.
I make a small slit to check inner wire color and they are both Black w/shielded mesh

All the reading and searching didn't mention 2 Gray shielded wires, just one.

Just don't know which one is which without opening the inner and using a multimeter to find the other side.

Is nothing ever easy with the FC? This is the first one I have ever worked on for somebody and I'm learning alot, just frustrating sometimes.

Sorry for the rant.

Anybody have a nice clear pic of a "clean" 89' S5 engine bay on the passenger side?

check if you can find a black ovalish plug dangling above your air control valve.

The shield of the grey cable attaches to the ECU ground wires.

Ain't no green unless it's mold......or the color of the CONNECTOR at the 02 sensor.

Note the OTHER grey cable in the jpg is for the Knock sensor. Head's up.

Three shielded wires as shown in the wiring diagrams:

- CAS
- O2 sensor
- Knock sensor

You ask "Is nothing ever easy with the FC?" The Factory Service Manuals (including wiring diagrams) are freely and easily available for download. If you have a wiring issue, look in the wiring diagrams. Easy.

Thanks for the clue on the knock sensor.
This car was brought to me with a seized S5 N/A motor and the owner had purchased a S4 N/A, someone else removed the S5 motor and disassembled the UIM and LIM from both blocks.....then stopped working on the car. It was brought to me 2 months later and I did the S4 >S5 manifold conversion and it is now running and just need to get the check light to go out and it's ready for a tune up at a local shop. Just one more wire to go......FB's are nice no "puters" to mess with.....well my megasquirt project is still waiting on the shelf, sooner or later the GSL-SE engine in my shop will be installed and I will be lost to the "darkside" of FI forever with no chance of salvation for my soul.
Thanks again for the help.
