O2 sensor

Hi,

I have a 86 series 4 (gen2) RX7 that I am going over and I was wondering what to check on the 02 sensor to make sure it is working properly.

I am asking this as my fuel economy is horrible, particularly for a naturally aspirated one (20 L/100 km), and I don't always drive it like a maniac.

I was wondering what voltage should it be running at warm, and what should it look like (or not look like). The thing is very fumey (on par with my Dad's webered bridgeport) and that makes me think it is running fairly rich.

Thanks

More than likely your running rich, NAs tend to. Just change the O2 sensor if your worried about it.

Thanks,

I am just looking for a way to check to see if it is still servicable or not as I can't really afford to go throwing money away unless they are really cheap.

I am in Australia and there aren't a huge number of these around, so parts tend to be a little on the expensive side.

You can use a universal one. Should be able to take it off and go to the parts store and find one.

Don't think they got Discount Auto Parts in Aus. but you can get an idea by going to www.discountautoparts.com and looking it up.
