o2 Bung Placement

Where would you guys reccommend placing an o2 bung for a wideband?

Just before the pre-silencer IF you have one. In the downpipe just prior to the pre-silencer is another way to say the same thing.

At different times I've placed it in the original 02 position, then just before the presilencer and last I put it about six inches before the left rear muffler. I noticed no difference in either place.

I've been told that the closer to the engine, the less of a lifetime the sensor will have, but the more accurate the reading. So its like a balance.
But then hailers here is saying that he noticed no difference, in what tho, gas milage or performance?
Weird..
