Ok, here she is. I bathed her today and she is ready to show herself off! Can anyone guess what year/model she is?

Could be anything! Snap me a picture of the tire sticker in the doorjamb, photoshop/block out any year info, and I'll take a more informed guess.

Series four... Other than that? Hard to tell without some more clues. How about a nice close up of the VIN Number?

Yes, series IV N/A, TII hood, S5 tails, some sort of side skirts, S5 rear spoiler.

Thanks for all the compliments. it is 1986 1/2 NA base lightweight. I am not going to list all mods. I do wonder what it weighs now. It started at about 2500 lbs, and I ripped all the extras off (air pump, acv, ac, egr, heavy mats), lighter alum suspension, alum hood, lighter wheels/tires, came without power steering. It must weigh about 2200lbs?

Lightweight with power windows, power mirrors, storage bins, and a sunroof (unless it's just the spoiler)?

power windows were lighter than the crank regulators (weighed them when out)

Power mirrors were lighter than manual mirrors
(also weighed em)

storage bins are just the lids and are the same weight as the wood (YES WOOD) that the car came with. origianaly the car had no bins just carpet over wood, those of you with a base know what I am talking about.

sunroof, well, cant do much bout that :-)

S5 seats from a gxl as well.... I did the same exact thing. Took my '89 gxl seats and dropped them in my 88 TII. Much more comfy. The seatbelts are a dead give away for pre-S5. Still, that's beautiful.

its also funny that the larger brakes weigh less than the base model brakes. I think it is because of the alum front 4 piston brakes and the hollow disks instead of solid. People probably think the upgrades that I made added weight, but actually made it lighter.. go figure

I wasn't questioning the weight of the items...I thought you meant the lightweight model (sport) which doesn't have all of the stuff I listed.

yea, it sounds strange doesn't it. Many of the manual options are actually lighter than electric. Dont forget the turbo/89-91 mirrors have a big hole in them and are smaller in size so they weigh less than the older larger manual mirrors with a big metal rod sticking out of them. As far as the regulators, well, anyone out there want to take a picture of the two side-by-side on a scale?

UniqueTII, yea you are right, the sport did not come with all that. They are just upgrades done by me.
Thanks,
-Dave

And the S5's had the body moulding the same color as the car, not black (unless it was a black car ).
