The stock turbo is water cooled, so unless you have just been really thrashing it, no cool down is needed.

If you have a non stock turbo with only an oil circuit, then most turbo timers have a computed cool down time option that varies from a few seconds to a few minutes.

My timer may compute as much as a minute of cool down time while running down the road, but by the time I find a parking spot, it's back to zero.

The only reason I have it is the "cool" factor, and I got it cheap.

oh, cool...
i kept thinking that it was oil cooled.
thx

oh yeah, sometimes after a drive and i'm back to the car like 30-40 minutes later... it doesn't start. it cranks and fires up but imediately shuts off. i have to do that at least four times until it starts normally again. any ideas?

rule of thumb for me is: drive normally without boosting as if your grandma was in the car 1 MILE from your house.......by the time you get home it should be cool enough to shut off right away........

it might be flooding.....search for HOT START problem

I know it's going off tangent, but hope your car doesn't catch on fire.
