NOT a typical premix/omp question.

Okay, so it's a couple of questions. First, Icemark, I read a post about engine oil ash % a little bit ago and I was wondering if you knew, or know where I could look to find the ash content of 2 stroke oils, specifically that of royal purple, amsoil, redline, and generic (like poulin or weedeter brand). Im interested in the differences between those and synthetic motor oils.

Second, as I was changeing my oil the other day, as I do every 2000 miles (yeah, holy crap), a friend commented on how badly burnt my oil was. I thought about this very black, high in carbon oil being injected and burned in the engine. I thought, hey, maybe this is why I have to pull my spark plugs out every time I change my oil and clean them. As I am lazy, and I upset a local mustang owner when i flipped him off after he told me to take my weedeater home when I was adding premix to the tank at the gas pump, and cause im lazy.......I want to make a seperate resivoir(maybe a quart in capacity) and bolt the stock s5 OMP to it and just fill it with 2 stroke oil. I can even T the oil lines and splice the wires and add a second OMP to raise the injection ratio. Anyone ever tried it before? I'm sure someone has. Got any links?

Thanks in advance for the help,

-E

Why not contact the manufacturers?  Most of them are pretty friendly with their info.  Keep in mind the Oil FAQ (I'm assuming) ash content is based on complete combustion; deposits are on internal parts that do not come close to flash point temps.

I don't think this is the case.  If the engine oil is black, the engine oil is DOING IT'S JOB.  Detergents in the engine oil is designed to clean the internals, so having black engine oil during an oil change is more desirable than clean engine oil.

There's one system out there from an aviation shop?
Try and do a seach to see if it'll pop up...
