not neon, but blacklights
I saw this in one of my girl friends civics, she had installed a blacklight right where the winshield meets the roof. I guess on the FC it would be right where the map lights are located. It looked kind of cool, and it wasn't bright like neon so you couldn't really see it from outside. but the coolest thing was when we were looking for cd's. She has a bunch of burned cd's, so they were all white backgrounds with black text. So it was super easy to read all of the cd's without having to turn on the map light to read what cd you had. I know it is kind of ricey, but it was so cool how easy it was to see the cd's. I could just see it in my car.. my razo ball shift **** would glow..

I know what your talking about. I think they are cool as long as you don't over-do it. Thats a perfect example of just a little light for looks and not overdoing it to look crappy.
