Are these safe mods to reach ~210 RWHP ?

I have some money to put into my Turbo II finally...

Will this be a safe list of mods to get?

Heres the mods needed

Most are for the goal of adding 60-75 HP at the crank

Also, I need a new clutch, mine slips a little, and will definantly replace before these mods

And I need a boost gauge because of FCD and want an A/F ratio to make sure I am not leaning out

With this setup I should be making 9-10 lbs of boost, correct?

-RB turbo back full exhaust system
-Apexi Power intake
-FCD
-Walbro Fuel Pump
-Bonez street/comp. clutch
-Boost gauge
-A/F ratio gauge

This is setting me back over $1500, so I need all the reccomendations I can get. This is a big investment for me! Last thing I want is to lean out the engine or too much stress on the engine or other components. I appreciate all the feedback.

Also:

I am shooting for high 13s or low 14s with this setup

Possiable?

Id really like to have a 13 second car, which would mean shaving over a second off what I have now

500 more and you could go with a Haltech F9A with a 85 dist
and skip the FCD you won't need it with the Haltech
1600cc $90 each
and save $400 going with a custom exhaust instead of the RB one
and run 12's @12PSI

Hmm.. that sounds tempting, but I dont know if I can afford that kind of money The car is my daily driver, and while I would love a 12 second car, I dont know if it will be financially feasable. Im 16. Maybe I could pick up a used haltec or other engine management system. I like the idea of being able to make my own maps and things like that.

However, I like the RB exhaust a lot and am likely going with that.

Either way:

Figure RB exhaust: 800
pump 120
clutch 270
gauges 120
injectors 300
haltech ~500
intake 150

im not sure if i need the intake .. it is modest gains for a lot of money, but prob. needed with 300++ hp at crank (needed for 12s)

thats almost 2300 there. I would say that is probably doable

Maybe you could give me some advice on exhaust systems. I want a reasonably priced exhaust thats affordable, not too loud, and wont drone on the highway. A full RB exhaust runs 800.

This is kind of personal, but 3 months ago I took money I had saved for over a year and bought my Turbo II. It was $2800. Right now, I have a little over 1000. In a month or 2 (by spring for sure) I could have the money for that. I will see. Thanks a lot for the advice, you really seem to know what youre talking about. And I really appreciate you trying to help me save money. My knowledge on modifing cars is very limited, my T2 is my first car.

Can anyone else reccomend a setup? I want a daily-drivable setup that is reliable and the fuel system can accomidate the power. What kabooski laid out sounds good. Kabooski: Do you have IM... hit me up: W4KE ..

Whats up.
Here what I have...

87 T2
Racing beat turbo back
FCD
680cc from gsle
upgraded pump
Crap intake.
89+ 13BT

13.2 stock clutch

If you want to save money, just have your exhaust custom fabbed at an independent shop. Save you a lot, instead of buying the RB system (although its great and worth every penny).

Addict-while you are doing the clutch take the exhaust side off the turbo and port the wastegate. Do a forum search for the process. On the 87+88 TII the wastegates are too small and w/ free flow intake and exhaust it will cause dangerous, uncontrollable boost creep. Do this and you can run w/ unrestricted exhaust for super fast spool-up!

Thumbs up my TII

your right on the money about hitting 10 lbs. of boost. you forgot about fuel control though. your gonna need a safc to richen things up on the high end ($350 or so). get a egt gauge to so you can make sure everything is running tight. did you know that your flywheel is 28 lbs. might wanna think about swapping that heavy thing out for a light steel one at 18lbs or do like me and get a 12lbs aluminum f/w. acceleration is drastictly changed should help with that 13+ second 1/4 mile time you want.

i got my TII bone stock and the 1st things i did where:

1. the exact same exhaust you want (rb turbo back) $800.00
2. flywheel and clutch $700

the car ran fine and quick but fuel cut was biatch so if you goin that route i recommend getting the fcd and safc $450 and walbro pump $125

total = $2075.00

if i was you i'd wait until you get about $2300.00, then do all this in one shot. or do the exhaust 1st and dont boost her past 8 psi unitl you get the rest of the stuff.
