not getting fuel
when i start the car i am not hearing the system prime, its cranks jsut like if i would pull my EGI fuse. so im thinking its something with my relay, im not sure. i was thinking of doing a toggle switch between the battery adn the fuel pump, but i dont know how to connect it since there are 4 wires on the connector to the fuel pump. id like to get the car running asap because i have an event sunday (((((

Series four only *PRIME*, if the key is HELD TO START. Where upon the engine turns over. The fuel pump NEVER primes with the key to ON.
Install a jumper in the fuel pump check connector and turn the key to ON. In this case the pump should run with just the key to ON. If you hear the pump, good, it's working. IF not, check the ENGINE fuse inside the car and the EGI COMP and EGI INJ fuses in the engine compartment. See the FSM for the locations or find the picture of the fuse boxes in the FAQ thread at the beginning of this second gen forum.

i know where the fuse boxes are but the one inside the car does not have a cover so if someone has a picture of the s5 cover, so i can see which fuses to check please hlep me out, the fuses in my engine bay are good. basically if that jumper doesnt turn it on, and the fuses are good, i need a new pump right?

Someone WHO KNEW BETTER, removed the two pictures.
So, the ENGINE fuse is on the third row from the bottom. either the second or third one from the left when viewing straight at it.
Jumper the fuel pump check connector. Turn the key to ON, Go to the filler cap and remove it. YOu should hear the pump run.
No run? PUll the fuel pump connector apart. Check with your meter for approx 12vdc at the LARGE BLUE wire in the chassis side of that connector. 12vdc should exist with key ON, jumper in. OR any time you hold the key to START.

You don't want to be a parts swapper, now do you? No, of course not. It cost too much.
