Got an old muscle car...I want to look into getting a supercharger on it...

As far as I can tell, you got Roots type blowers, and Centrifugal type blowers. All I know is that Top Fuel uses Roots type, so, of course, Im going to associate those with "BIG PAR".

BUT

I know theres got to be more behind it all. Anyone have some good links about the Pros and Cons between the two? Im looking on Google ATM but have yet to find something "good".

Centrifugals in my opinion work with imports better, and who doesn't love a blower sticking out of the hood

it really is dependent on what you want,

roots: look awesome hanging out of the hood, work with carbs mostly

centrifugal: space saving, works very well with fuel injection

both are very simple to install, it also depends on space and such...

Don't forget the screw style, roots are lobe style blowers, they are about 40-50% efficient.. Kobelco makes an excellant screw supercharger, its big bucks, but its far better than anything that was originally developed for a gm diesel..Max

Go check out a Borders or Barns and Noble bok store and look for " Supercharging, Turbocharging ad Nitrous Oxide". It's a great book and I'd reccomend it to anone that wants a power adder on their car. It covers just about everything you need to know to pick the right blower, turbo or N2O setup. While youre at it, find a copy of The Auto Math Handbook. They're both great and can help anyone, I mean ANYONE.

Roots blower doesn't neccesarily have to be on a carbed car and sticking out of the hood. The blowers on the new Ford Lightning and Mustang are both the same Eaton roots blowers.

Pros to a roots blower? It is ALWAYS making boost, it is just bypassed at idle, but when you romp it you have boost INSTANTLY.

The centrifuagal blower is more like a turbo, it takes longer to come up and is related to engine RPM moreso than anything. My friend had a 1998 Cobra with a Vortec centrifugal blower and a 01 Lightning with the stock Eaton. The Eaton made more power, more torque and we much more fun to drive with just boltons.
