Lightbulb NOS $250 Clutch Based LSD for 7" and 8" Rear Ends

To start with I'm not associated with the business selling these. I just thought these were such an affordable option that I'd pass on the info.

If anyone is looking for an inexpensive clutch based LSD for a FC NA rear end (7.2”) or Mazda 8” rear end (FC Turbo and FD) I’ve found a place that has some NOS Precision Gear Power Brutes for $250. Specifically they have three 7.2” LSDs left after I bought mine. I didn’t ask for a specific count for the 8” but they did confirm they have some.

There is very little info about these LSDs on the net but from what I’ve gathered these were manufactured by Tochigi Fuji Sangyo and most likely correspond to their Multi-plate LSD line. These units where rebranded by NISMO for the R200 rear end so they should be a quality part. They are a 2 way LSD. They should be rebuildable by Kaaz in the US as I’ve seen a post on the club about someone getting their 8” Power Brute rebuilt by them.

The extension on Andy’s Ring and Pinion website is wrong. That takes you to someone in the service department. I spoke with Josh in sales at ext 5548 and he was very helpful. If you ring through and can’t get him then just use the prompt system to get to sales and tell them what you want and that it’s in the Scratch and Dent section of their website. Everything listed there is surplus NOS items they acquired when they bought out a stores inventory but doesn’t quite correspond to their primary business of selling off road LSDs.
