Is this normal for turbo rotaries?
Today I got the correct N370 map sensor and the code 13 is now gone. I took the car for a drive for about 3 minutes, just went down the street and back. It seemed to love half throttle, but full throttle it just fell on its ***. Code 12 (wide range tps sensor) came back aslo so im guessing thats the throttle issue. When I got back I popped the hood so I can get the codes that were left. Since it was kinda dark, I immediatly noticed the glowing of the turbo. Do they normally get that hot that quick? Or should I be checking my timing? I will header wrap the down pipe later, will it stand up to glowing metal?
the guy also had tons of spare parts, he threw this in also:

Turns out I did have the wrong map sensor (i think it was N318) which turns out to be the one that he needed for his s4 TII. So it was just an even trade.

I also tried a 2nd air bypass valve and both just stay open. I guess its on the wrong vacuum port. I just ran it from what looks like where the map sensor used to be and just put a splitter on the hose. Any ideas/pics of where the hose for the bov/bypass valve goes?

Im not sure if its normal, but its not un common, my manifold use to light up slightly, and my turbine housing use to be cherry red if you popped the hood after a little spirited driving
Under hard or "spirited" driving it's not unusual. but if you're just putting around town and not boosting then it might mean you're too rich or timing is off. Both of which could be from the bad tps or the pressure sensor.
I've had mine glowing a nice orange but, that's after some hard boosting.
That's the inlet duct. Do you not have one? And on it I see the bypass valve. Do you have a BOV of some sort?

Inlet duct was missing when I got the car, it was such a pain to hunt that one down. I had the HKS bov already on the pipe but I think it got stollen from out of the car. so now im just gonna go with the stock bypass valve. Just not sure why it is staying open. the guy that traded me map sensors just gave me that

The one right aboce the bypass valve in the picture. It's for emissions. It's supposed to hook to one of the ports on the oil filler tube to burn off the crankcase oil fumes. If you aren't using it plug it or you'll have a nasty vacuum leak!
