Is this normal for a rebuild? - VIDEO INSIDE
Just wondering if this much smoke is expected from a rebuild? The housings and rotors are used but all seals are new. I don't think the camera caught as much smoke that was coming out. The smoke filled my garage easily within a few seconds. I've read that rebuilds smoke, but how long does it typically smoke? Hours, days, weeks? Obviously, with used housings, the engine will take longer to build compression. I'd appreciate it if someone with a few engine builds under their belt could voice their opinion. Thank you.

When I first started my rebuilt engine, it smoked fairly heavily for the first few minutes, then it cleared out for the most part. I continued to have some light smoke for the first day or so due to the oil/petroleum jelly that was still in the exhaust.
If your video is showing the first startup, then it looks normal to me.
