NOOB needs your help! 90 NA wont start

Hi all, i know it has been covered and i searched a million posts, but mine seems just a littl different and i am in dire need of some help.

Well, i picked the car up pretty cheap. Its an Auto 90' NA, and it will not start.
it has spark, and will start and run off starter fluid. i checked the power all the way to the fuel pump and my light came on when i checked the fuel pump wires, i cant hear it running so i do not know if that is the prob or no. The previous owner said it would run and die when she stopped it then it developed some transmission prob and she stopped driving it now it will not start at all. Some one please help me before i have to it and part it out.

You could take a fuel line off, and make sure that the fuel pump is actually pumping fuel. Be careful though. (No Smoking)

If the pump is running and pumping fuel, the injectors may either clogged or not opening. Try swapping you secondary injectors in place of your primaries. They are all the same size (460cc) so they are interchangeable. Also, you can hear if an injector is opening or not. Use a stethascope, or even a screwdriver with one end on the injector and your ear on the other.

Other possible causes: Clogged fuel pump sock, clogged fuel filter.

Well the pump is not pumping at all, i took it out and drained the tank. the pump and surrounding componets are the most disgusting excuse for parts i have ever seen. it appears the PO did not understand the concept of fuel filters, the return line to the tank was clogged and i could not even blow air through it. so, i took it all apart and cleaned everything spic and span, now i need a new pump and fuel level sender, the old one was corroded into pieces. also, would a walbro be a good idea? or would it pump too much for the stock setup? being a return type system would the extra fuel the walbro would give not just pump back into the tank if not used? well, any ideas of where to get a pump and a level sender would be som much appreciated then if those things dont help, i guess ill move down the fuel lines, and keep checking. i know this thing will run, ran like a charm for five seconds on starter fluid. I WANT THIS BABY RUNNING SO BAD I CAN TASTE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Walboro is complete overkill for an NA setup. Check in the Parts for Sale section near the bottom of the forum. I've got a working NA fuel pump for 20 bucks shipped if you're interested. I don't have a level sensor though.

yeah walbro would just be nonsense and it may even cause flooding.... stick with stock till you modify. $20 is a great price especially to see your new baby run!
