Unhappy Non-Turbo to Turbo Swap Issue

I swapped out a non-turbo for a TII engine. I'm sure that everything is hooked up properly, yet the car won't start. I got a TII ECU and hooked up everything that was different, and hooked up everything properly. The only thing i can think of is ignition timing. The other thing is that when the key is turned to ON, only a couple of the warning lights come on, and in my 86-GXL, all the lights come on. Any Ideas?! I'm getting really frusterated. I smell gas, and with a timing light, the coils work. i'm leaning toward wiring on the issue. One more thing...i took off the flywheel...how do i tell how it goes back on so that i can adjust ignition timing correctly?
Thanks Guys

The flywheel doesnt effect timing and there is only one way it can go on. The timing marks are on the front pulley.

What version engine did you get?
List the parts you replaced and then we can get an idea if anything is missing.

I'm about to do the swap in a week or two so I am going to be in the same boat.

I spoke with Rotary Ressurection and the ECU should run everything correctly without rewiring. You juts need to run a wire from the Alt to the ECU to keep the idiot lights from glowing all the time. The rewire the Volt gauge to the right jumper on the ECU.

I have an '88 TII w/<25,000 miles. The oil line i am refering to in my post goes from the mix of piping under the four solenoids and it goes with another line to the turbo. The one line goes into the turbo while the other goes infront of it...it's a thin piece. I need to know ultimately where it ends up just in case i don't have another line that it attaches to. I replaced the ECU with the turbo one, and bought the apexi boost controller. I have a greddy type s blow off valve. What did you mean by the wire from the alt and the volt gauge? Can you get me specific pins on the ECU? i rewired a few, but those two you mentioned i didn't do.

I don't know which pins they are. It was mentioned on www.rotaryresurrection.com They deal with the idiot cluster lights and the Volt gauge.

Did you also get the boost sensor?Knock control box?

Does the engine crank over and not run or does it do something else?

I believe the pulley can only go on one way. I would watch out though. I think there are pins /key which can fall out and make your day a PITA if you take it off.

Maybe you should check fuses and make sure your getting a spark.

i got the fuel cut defensor, but not the boost gauge. The pressure sensor replaces the boost sensor in the non-turbo. I figured that the fuel cut defensor would remain acting as a resistor, and the voltage would be fine for the ECU. I don't think i have a knock control box...but i don't have power steering. I'm going to re-check all my fuses...i hope that's the issue

The front pulley has a four hole pattern that will match the front pulley hub in only one way. It will only go on one way....unless you wallow out a couple of the holes, then it will fit in more than one way. You don't wanna do that. Keep turning the pulley till all four holes in the pulley match the holes in the hub. You'll need a mirror.

If you put a turbo in a non turbo car.....you NEED to get turbo pressure sensor. The *boost* sensor off the non turbo will not work right. The car should start though, even with the wrong sensor....&&&& I think &&&&.

The car will start and run without a knock sensor. No after effects on the starting of the engine.
