Non running value

I was wondering what a typical non-running fc3s turboII would cost? I think I may be able to ge tmy hand on one, but I'm not sure what I'm getting myself into.

The car hasn't run for 3 years now, and I haven't asked the guy how much he wants for it.. yet. What I would like to know is if it's worth it for me to buy it? Is the engine done for, so I should really consider buying a new engine for it? Since flashoption's got those apparently for $500, it doens't seem like a bad deal, since I will be getting most of the other needed parts with the car.

SO the quesiton is, is it worth buyin, or am I going to face tones of problems, since it hasn't run in awhile? What should I absolutely lookout for (ontop of the faqs). I can't test the car, since it doesn't run, so I don't even know if the turbo is good or not! I'm sure a visual inspeaction wouldn't reveal much, but I'm sure I can find some spare turbo's somewhere.

Welp hopefully there wasn't a previous thread like this. I tried to do a search and looked at some of the topcics posted, and couldn't find really anything.
FAQ says to stay away from the ones that don't boost right, but if the engine is already dead (maybe there is a way to revive it??) should I still stay away from it. From what it seemed, the body was in fair shape, so maybe it would be a good project car, and it would be back on the road for $2000 or so? I'm hoping to get it for around $800-$1000(or less), plus engine $500.. and I'd be doing the work, yeah for the first time, but I'll rely on you guys for help :P.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome. thanks! for helpin' out a rotary n00b

if it doesn't run it isn't worth more than 500 dollars if its mint!

If its a 10th AE maybe 800 same for a GTUs.

That's about right $500. You could pour tons of money into it eg engine, which you know, exhaust?, clutch?, trans?, tires? etc. It's a shame, but that's why you see so many of them parted out. Too much to get back into top condition.

I think it depends on how common T2's are where you live. T2's in my area are very rare, I would pay at least $1000 for a non-running good condition T2. I have only seen one T2 on the road in my area in about the last year.

hmm alright.. well that kinda sucks then. $500 sounds like a fairly good price for me to put in.
So if the engine is dead, I can put a new one in.. +$500. I'm guessing NGKs, fuel filter and a few other things maybe $300.. tires should be too much of a problem, but still another $250 probably... so let's see $1550.. could there be any driveshaft play.. how much would it cost to be fixed? hmm.. the problem is I really want to start playing with rotary engines.. but then I don't want to waste money. I just wanna learn

thanks for all the input

If you can get into a good running T2 in good shape for under 2K your ahead of the game. Keep in mind that getting a heathy engine put in there must be your top priority. Paying $200-300 more on an engine with a warrenty is well worth it. Your might be able to check the comp (cold) on the engine that is in there. Battery and compression gauge is all it should take.

what year is the car?
