Non-damaging sunroof delete option?

Has anyone done a sunroof delete that doesn’t involve welding or riveting a panel to the roof? I’m not ready to repaint my car yet but would like to get rid of the 30lbs of dead weight in the roof as part of my weight reduction program.

the best way is a new roof panel, unfortunately you'd have to buy from Mazda Japan, and shipping would get silly fast.
second best would be to find a dead non sunroof car here and cut the roof off, its like plan A, but more work.

the third best would be to weld up the existing roof, the hard part is that the roof flexes at lot, so any kind of filler tends to crack/show up.

Get a carbon fiber sheet, cut to size, then seal it to the roof using body panel adhesive, or the like.

I’d like to do it in a non damaging way that doesn’t involve a repaint or permanent modification. I’d be ok with leaving the seals and drains, just finding a way to support the section while gutting the tracks and motor assembly.
