no start? where to start
I purchased a '90 GTU with a blown coolant seal.... removed that engine and replaced it with the running (I started it and it ran great before I pulled it) engine from my wrecked '89 GTUs. as I stated the engine I installed was running prior to install, when I start the the '90 (with the '89 engine now) I get a check engine light, it will rev to 4/5000 rpm set for a moment and die. I can get it to run if I feather the throttle but that is it, it is smoking very bad and sounds like it is fireing correctly.
my only concerns are;
- the '89 had some sort of coolant reservoir that fed directly to a port on the intake. the '90 does not have this reservoir and the intake does not have the port. the port on the '89 motor is capped at the moment.
- I had to swap an injector plug from one harness to the other
- there is what looks to be a condeser down near the starter that I am unsure of where it attaches
other than those I see no reason for this to happen....
any ideas will be appreciated
thanks,
Dustin
