No RPM signal

At a red light car died. Haltech Sprint RE. Got a laptop to see what's wrong, no RPM signal. Pulled the CAS and spun it to check. Nothing. Towed the car home checked the harness all the wires have continuity from device. Good. Tried a new CAS. Nothing. All the counters read zero.

Can anybody help. With any suggestions.

Does the car currently run? If not then check the EGI fuse(s).

If you jumper the bullet connector at the lead coil to the trailing coil then the coil will run off of the lead coil. Now if it runs off of the lead coil then you will rule out the tach itself being the problem.

The coil normally does run off of the trailing coil so the problem could be the trailing coil, the connection for the tach signal from the coil to the tach or the ECM is not firing the coil.

And are we talking an S4 or S5?

Huh? Im not sure of the instructions. The chassis is an s4 but the engine harness is Haltech.

Is there a way to trick the ecu into thinking there is a CAS signal. Im getting MAP, TEMPS, and TPS just no RPM.

You might also want to post this in the Haltech section. But the bullet connectors I speak of are part of the coil itself and not part of any harness stock or aftermarket.

And have you checked the EGI INJ fuse?

And does the car run at all?

And is the tach itself working or no tach and no signal at the ECM?

Are you checking for RPM signal AT the CAS with it unplugged?
