Exclamation no power at the key combination switch...?

Car is a S4 N/a manual. Replaced the chassis harness with an automatic harness... long story. so everything is in, but no power at the key assembly. checked for voltage at any of the wires coming off of the key combination switch and have 0.0 volts. i have power to headlights, brake lights, all the things that work when the ignition is off.

searched and had no luck. looked at the wiring diagrams and still trying to understand how power gets from the fuseblock under the hood to the combination switch.

any help is greatly appreciated.

Voltage comes from the Main fuse. At the side of the engine fuse box closest to the firewall will be a Black cable that drops down about a foot below the fuse box that comes from the Main fuse. The cable mates with another Black cable via a Black connector. Then it runs to the Ignition Switch and ends up in the plug that also has a Black/White wire. So either your Main fuse is blown or the Black connector is not mated properly. The items you stated that work are powered through the BTN fuse and "not" the Main fuse.
