no power

i have and 86 rx7 and every time i try to start it i lose power. i checked and cleaned the battery cables but it didnt correct the problem. does anyone out there know what can be wrong?

I would try jumping it just to make sure the battery is still good or not. If it still doesn't work, maby your starter is going bad.
