no oil pressure in dash for first 5 miles

I have an FC S5 about 123,000

Everything was fine with my oil pressure gauge in my dash until last week. When I start that car in the morning the oil pressure goes to 15psi and back down to zero. It seems that the combination of driving downhill or driving for 5 miles makes it work again to the point where its 30psi idle and 60psi driving. Later on it the day if I drive the car the gauge works fine but stops working again if I leave it overnight.

I checked the oil level and filled it up a little past full. Also the oil buzzer never goes off and my engine temp always stays normal. Whats going on???

My S5 Vert is doing the exact same thing as you. Is your putting out white smoke yet? Does anyone who is going to read this know what the white smoke is? That's what mine is starting to do now. It had the roughest start today becuase I havn't driven the car in a couple of days....I think it's pissed at me lol

Replace the oil gauge sender\sensor.

I'll replace the sensor and see it that does that trick.

it sounds like a bad press. sensor. im assuming theres no leak on the motor
also check oil press. manually. hook up a gauge at the sensor port and check
also possible that the pick up screen is clogged
